Wild Cards I, who has finished?

So if you finished the book, the comments are the place to discuss what you think (if you feel so inclined). Since A Dance with Dragons is the default book for the month, everyone has three options really.
 1) Read a Dance with Dragons if you have read A Song of Ice and Fire and have been waiting for the book for years.
 2) Start book one of ASoIaF, Game of Thrones.
 3) Use the month to catch up and finish Elixir and / or Wild Cards 1.

Pretty much just read something for the month.

The Book for July

People have till the 10th or so of July to finish up June's book, but by executive decision, July is going to be A Dance with Dragons.

Sorry to anyone else who hasn't read the Game of Thrones series, and you probably won't be reading this book for this month (so take it as a break and catch up on the books you missed if you haven't finished already?)

But for some of us, we've been waiting for this book for a long time now, and its released this month.

So yeah, no vote in July. Finish Wild Cards, finish Elixir (if you never read that either), or pick a light reading book of your own you want to read. Good luck

Votes are in and the book is...

Wild Cards 1 edited by George RR Martin.

Id like to say we should have the book finished by July 8th and a new book voted on by the following Monday(11th).

Hope everyone enjoys the book. It's a long running series (the 21st book is just about to come out), and from what I hear, its a good read.

Good luck

Book pics for June

Time to pick a new book!

Leave a comment below with your book pick, and I'll update the poll. June 10th the poll will close, so you have until then to get your book in and vote.

Remember when voting, you are not allowed to vote for your own book.

June 1st, have you finished the book?

So the month of May is over, and even though you have till the first Monday of June to finish (6th), if you aren't pretty far along by now, you probably won't be finished in the next 5 days.

So what did you think of the book? It was Jake's book that was voted on, so congratulate / blame him if you loved it / hated it.

Post a comment below with what you thought of the book.

*There could be spoilers in the comments*

A little over one week left to finish the book.

Since we started the book a little late, I'd say we probably have until the first Monday of June (6th) to finish the book. On the 1st of June ill get a new poll started so people can decide what they would like their June book to be.

I'll make another post in the next few days for those who have finished the book. If you would like to comment and discuss the book there, you can.

Let's do something different...read a book?

Ok, so this blog is here help all of us keep on task with a book a month goal. Were are just a group of friends who want to try to read a book a month, but anyone is welcome to follow along.

Here are our rules:

  1. Each person must pick a book they wish to share with everyone else. Post in the comment your book selection

  2. The books will go into a poll on the page. Each person may vote for the book they wish to read for the current month. You cannot vote for the book you selected.

  3. Once a book is selected, you have until the end of the month to finish that book. I'll probably make a post about the book we read and anyone can leave a comment on what they thought about it.

Guidelines for book selection:
  • It can't be a book from the middle of a series unless we have read the previous book in the series already

  • For the first few months, try to limit your book to something that is a bit easier reading, until everyone is able to handle longer and more complicated books. Try to pick a book that you think everyone would enjoy, not something you just want to force other people to read

  • The book must be available on Amazon Kindle store

  • Harry Potter and Twilight books are forbidden

That should be about it. Feel free to share this blog with anyone who might be interested in reading books often and following along with other people reading the same book.

Hopefully the book can be selected within the first week of each month to give everyone enough time to finish.

Thanks and have fun
